A performance introducing children and parents to the concept of graphic scores. Part of ONE, my touring production for solo pianist, this event also formed part of the Lotherton Hall Crafty Families series.
Participants experienced live new music performed by Ben Gaunt on the 150-year old piano in the drawing room at Lotherton Hall, drawing imagery in response to the performance. These images were in turn used as graphic scores and played back to the artists, creating a musical-visual feedback loop.
Images shown were created by workshop participants and performed by pianist Ben Gaunt.
ONE was supported by Arts Council England Grants for the Arts, and was part of the Composer-Curator programme from Sound and Music, the national charity for new music.
